In the second year, students build on the skills developed on the foundation with wholesale sales, retail buying and operation, photo styling, and event planning and budgeting. In the first year, courses in the business of fashion – marketing strategies, product knowledge, trend forecasting and web merchandising – give students an overview of this multibillion-dollar industry. Our advisory committee provides regular review and input of curriculum ensuring our program is always on the cutting edge of industry developments. These skills are then applied to product launches, planning merchandise assortments, styling fashion shoots and the production of fashion events. You’ll also learn fashion trend forecasting, sales techniques, and colour and styling analysis while attaining basic knowledge of fashion products and fashion promotion. To celebrate their tenth anniversary, this year’s theme – titled #MadeInCanada - aims to bring the great north to the forefront of fashion. The annual Fashion Arts Toronto (FAT) exhibit will be opening its doors at Daniels Spectrum on Tuesday, April 21 until Saturday, April 25, for another year of themed fashion collections and a collection of art from local photographers, filmmakers and performers. Toronto’s next fashion festival is set to happen in Regent Park and this year, organizers are making it their mission to boost Canadian pride. ![]()
